Evropsky významnou lokalitu (EVL) o rozloze 270,55 ha tvoří krasová oblast javoříčských jeskyní s přiléhajícími zachovalými buničinami. Na místech výskytu vápenců v NPR Špraněk, která je součástí lokality, se zachovaly velmi vzácné vápnomilné bučiny. Dále se zde vyskytují porosty suťových lesů s tisem červeným a květnaté bučiny.

The basis of the collection is composed of props used by a local theatrical company in the 1950s. One interesting item, for example, is a theatre curtain; other objects include folk costumes, samples of period home furnishings and old school items. Displays of agriculture and crafts items are found in the attic of the museum. A wooden cannon used during town celebrations is a unique item in the collection. Several sets of photographs and postcards related to life in the village are also on display. Additional interesting exhibits include game pictures and clocks.

Between the ancient towns of Olomouc and Mohelnice, right in the heart of Haná, extends the CHKO Litovelské Pomoraví – the Litovel Morava Riverlands Protected Nature Area. It is made up of an area of extensive alluvial meadows, unique in all of Europe. At the core of the entire complex is a natural phenomenon – a landlocked river delta. In addition to the lands of the Protected Nature Area it encompasses the hilly Doubrava leafy woods and the krast peak Třesín with the accessible and richly ornamental Mladeč Caves.

Some of the most beautiful caves are located in the Špraněk Protected Nature Area. Parts of these three-storey caverns, which have not yet revealed their full mystery, were discovered in 1938 after arduous crawling; difficult exploration of other rooms continued in the 1950s. Your imagination will come alive at a view of the mysterious lower chamber, not open to the public. The difficult labyrinth is woven by passages connected to a chasm which falls to a depth of 60 metres and has not yet been fully explored.

In the Mladeč Caves, you will be reminded of the history of mankind, for prehistoric man lived here in this shelter in the time of the Ice Age. In addition to human bones, diverse stone implements and fireplaces have been discovered. This caves, famous since time immemorial, are located in the Litovel Morava Riverlands Protected Nature Area. The passageways and cathedrals with rich limestone ornamentation interlace the limestone peak of Třesín. You can bow in tribute to the forces of nature in the aptly titled Cathedral of Nature and in the lovely Virgin Cave.

The Bílá Lhota Arboretum features indigenous trees as well as rare European and exotic overseas varieties. The park holds more than 400 species of trees. The arboretum was established around the year 1700 and several of the trees planted at that time still grow there today.

One of the most beautiful public buildings in Litovel, the gymnasium is a symbol of the struggle between Czech and German town residents for political power that reached a climax at the turn of the 20th century.

The Plague Column

A plague pillar decorated with the statues of seven patron saints was erected on the square in 1724 in memory of the end of the plague that struck the town in 1714. St. Sebastian and St. Roch are located on the corners nearest the town hall. St. Carlo Borromeo with a book and crucifix and St. Francis Xavier are found on the opposite side. Both of these individuals formerly cared for the ill during plague epidemics. The pillar is crowned by a statue of the Virgin Mary; statues of St. Pauline and St. Rosalie are located beneath her.

Velká část území rezervace Terezské údolí leží ve východním okraji Zábřežské vrchoviny. Protéká jím říčka Šumice, která pramení v Bouzovské vrchovině. Říčku Šumici obklopují rozsáhlé smrkové lesy a místy také lesy lužní. Nejvyšším vrcholem přírodního parku je Křemela ve výšce 406 metrů nad mořem.

The town hall is mentioned in the oldest preserved Litovel parchment from the year 1287. In addition to lunettes by Alois Flasar, the most interesting features of the building include the portal of the original aristocratic house. The Vlaším family coat of arms bears the date 1489. A relief plaque from the period of Jan Šembera of Boskovice is found in the corridor of the town hall.

The oldest bridge in Moravia

A bridge above the main stream of the Moravia River dates back to 16th century. It is the oldest stone bridge in Moravia and, after the Charles bridge in Prague and the bridge in Písek, the third oldest standing bridge construction in the country.

In 1625 the building at the site was listed as the pub “At the Black Bear.” This was purchased in 1870 for the purposes of the Farmers’ Savings Bank. This financial institution became extremely important in the struggles over Litovel and played a leading role in the construction of agricultural businesses in the town and the surrounding areas. The building subsequently became the centre of cultural life. In the second half of the 19th century halls were built on the first floor, with space for the bank on the left side; stores remained on the ground floor. The savings bank underwent several more reconstructions before obtaining its current appearance in 1913.

The chateau at Náměšť na Hané features unique collections not found anywhere else in the country. Visitors may view the collection of Meissen porcelain and the gold ceremonial and black travelling coaches of the Olomouc bishops and archbishops from the 18th to the 20th century. The tour also takes you through the chateau gallery and the Empire style chateau chapel. The chateau park, with its four paths oriented to the points of the compass, is also worth seeing.
