A lot of cultural facilities in Central Moravia´s towns and villages make the region attractive for every art lover. Rich cultural life is attributed to numerous ethnographic ensembles and folk groups which bring back to life old Shrovetide traditions and preserve original local customs, songs and dances.

The Church of the Visitation of Virgin Mary
Olomouc
Thousands of pilgrims have winded their way to the Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary on Svatý Kopeček and it up until today ranks among the most well-known and most frequently visited pilgrimage sites in the Czech Republic. The church was built by the Premonstratensians in the 17th and 18th centuries on the site of a chapel which had been destroyed by the Swedes.
The Church of St. Moritz
Olomouc
This church, one of the most rare late gothic structures in Moravia, came into being in the 15th century. This unique parish church contains the largest organ in Central Europe, constructed by the Wroclav master Michael Engler in the 18th century and the rare late gothic sculptural group of Christ on the Mount of Olives. The church tower provides tourists with a magnificent view of the city and its surroundings.
The Holy Trinity Column – UNESCO monument

A baroque treasure, listed by UNESCO, located on the Horní square in Olomouc
After having been listed as the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage, the monumental baroque column of the Holy Trinity on the Horní square is probably the most renowned monument in Olomouc.
Museum of Art
Olomouc
The museum owns an enormous collection of European old masters and a collection of 20th century Czech art. In the extent of its collections it is the third largest institution of its type in the country. Its collection of roughly 60,000 items is made up of paintings, sculptures, drawings, graphic works, photography, furniture and book art.
